About this course
Are you thinking about moving your old computer systems and programs to the Cloud? If so, you may be wondering which Cloud software to use – Public, Private, or a mix of both. This course can help you make that decision using a Cloud platform called OpenStack.
OpenStack is a type of Cloud software that can be customized to fit your specific needs. You can start with basic features and add more as your needs grow. For example, when you’re ready to use newer software, you can add OpenStack components to help manage and run that software. This course also covers other important tasks, such as setting up new computers, billing for Cloud use, and more.
This course is taught using OpenStack without any additional features added by a specific company. Instead, we use standard features that work with OpenStack, like Logical Volume Manager (LVM) for Block Storage, Open vSwitch (OVS) for L2 networking, or KVM/QEMU for the hypervisor.
